Mt Buller Mt Stirling Resort Management wishes to advise of the following details regarding the closure of the Circuit Road within the Mt Stirling Alpine Resort for the winter season.
Part of the Circuit Road will be closed from Telephone Box Junction to Razorback Track, and from Telephone Box Junction to Howqua Gap from 12 noon on Friday 8th June 2018 to Thursday 1st November, 2018.
This closure is in line with the declared snow season and the arrival of skiers and snow players,as the Mt Buller and Mt Stirling ski resorts become operational for winter.
From this time, the part of the Circuit Road within the Mt Stirling Alpine Resort becomes a ski trail and pedestrian thoroughfare (regardless of snow conditions), and it is imperative that a safe and enjoyable environment is provided for winter visitors to Mt Stirling.
Other 4WD access routes to popular huts and camping areas in the Mansfield State Forest and Alpine National Park remain open until 14th June. As conditions may vary, please call the Mansfield State Government Offices on 5733 1200 for road and track condition information.
Access to Craig's hut is available by 4WD ONLY via Carter's Rd, No 3 Rd and the northern section of the Circuit Road.
Please check the DELWP website - Public Access Map and click on Forest Explorer prior to embarking on your trip.
