Four Wheel Drive Victoria has been informed by Parks Victoria that sections of the Alpine National Park will be closed from Monday 22nd November to Friday 26th November 2021, as Parks Victoria undertake an aerial shooting program,
targeting deer and feral animals to protect native species impacted by the bushfires.
The aerial shooting area will be closed to all visitors and vehicles during this time to ensure the safety of the public.
A coordinated approach, using a variety of control methods, is being taken to help fire-affected wildlife and habitats recover and prevent further damage by deer and feral pigs, goats and foxes. The operation will be carried out under strict conditions designed to ensure safe, effective, and humane practices for up to 5 days. Please observe all closures and signage while in these parks and remember to check Parks Victoria’s website for further closures and information and the attached map for closure areas.
