Four Wheel Drive Victoria has been notified by Forest Fire Management Victoria of the following planned burns within the Hume Region for today, 21st March 2022, subject to suitable weather conditions.
Goulburn District
• New ignition of a 253 hectare Fuel Reduction Burn at Strathbogie South - Tallangalook Rd 12km north of Bonnie Doon. Day 1 ignition 153 hectares.
• New ignition of a 84 hectare Fuel Reduction Burn at Barjarg - Mt Strathbogie Communication Towers 7km west of Barjarg. Day 1 ignition 50 hectares.
• Patrol of a 466 hectare Fuel Reduction Burn at Jamieson North - Stony Creek - Lauriston Sector 2.3km north east of Jamieson Township. At patrol status.
• Patrol of a 341 hectare Fuel Reduction Burn at Samaria - Williams Rd 6km south west of Samaria. At patrol status.
Murrindindi District
• Continued ignition of a 1099 hectare Fuel Reduction Burn at Big River SF - Frenchmans Spur - Operation 2 26km east of Marysville. Day 2 ignition 500 hectares.
Ovens District
• New ignition of a 62 hectare Fuel Reduction Burn at Barwidgee - Stringybark Creek 3.1km south east of Barwidgee. Day 1 ignition 42 hectares.
Upper Murray District
• New ignition of a 185 hectare Fuel Reduction Burn at Thowgla - McCormack Gap Rd 3.7km south east of Thowgla. Day 1 ignition 85 hectares.
• Continued ignition of a 170 hectare Fuel Reduction Burn at Eskdale - Lords Cutting 7.7km east of Eskdale. Day 2 ignition 100 hectares.
